Senior Pentagon officials are considering an inflation relief proposal made by key defense industry associations that would have Congress expand military funding and allow alterations to fixed-price contracts that could help companies battered by surging prices.

NDIA Board Chairman Arnold Punaro told Inside Defense he believes there is a “common sense” case to be made for inflation relief for defense contractors because the government has recognized the need for it among civilian and military personnel, as well as reprogrammed billions for the surging price of fuel.
